Avren Tourist Information

The small Bulgarian town of Avren is located approximately 20 minutes' drive from Varna City, 15 minutes' drive from the Black Sea coast, and 30 minutes' drive from Varna International Airport. Avren is a municipal centre and has a population of around 800 people. The town offers all the amenities that you need for everyday life. There is a post office, a medical centre, a dentist, a vet, a library, a nursery and a school that caters for primary and secondary education. (There are many English pupils and an English school teacher). There are several shops and a selection of bars and restaurants, several of which are owned and run by English residents. There are regular bus services from Varna to Avren and the surrounding villages. Mobile phone reception is excellent, and fast internet is available. More than 100 foreign citizens from Great Britain, Ireland, France, Holland and other European countries have already bought properties in Avren. Many more have properties in nearby villages such as Sadovo, Benkovski, Kitka and Priseltsi.

There are plans to build a new golf course and leisure complex just outside Avren. In the nearby village of Sadovo there are already two bed and breakfast establishments run by English families, and there are plans to open an Indian takeaway and a steakhouse.
