Tsarevo (or Tzarevo) is a coastal resort town which lies 70 km south of Burgas, between the Strandzha Mountain range and the southern Black Sea coast and has a population of approximately six thousand people. Tsarevo straddles two small, very attractive peninsulas and is both an administrative center and a quiet port.
Tsarevo boasts its own ancient fortress, and close by, the beautiful Stradzha Mountain National Park provides nature lovers with some of the most fantastic views in Bulgaria. Much of the area remains unexplored and is populated by many rare and reclusive species of wildlife. The caves systems are a popular venue for speleologists (potholers) and show many fascinating traces of ancient civilizations who dwelt there in eons past.
